Otavalo Market

The stalls are filled with beautiful hand made items. Lots of woven items-ponchos, blankets, rugs, sweaters, vests. Children work at selling at a very young age.
Not only the items in the stalls are interesting, but the dress of the local natives who shop there are also colorful and beautiful to observe. This woman was embroidering beautiful blouses. These women are from a particular ethnic group from the south and eastern sides of Imbabura Mountain.
The stalls are filled with hand made crafts. Especially popular were scarfs. This woman vendor had an odd assortment of flutes, knives, all kinds of scary looking toys.
